A research analyst, writer and social worker by profession, Amitoj Gautam is the Proprietor of Confllux Publishing and Communications, New Delhi, India. He is also the General Secretary of ‘Disha Arambh Towards Humanism,’ a pan-India Non-Profit Organisation, dedicated to the destitute, women and child welfare with special emphasis on vocational training. Besides, he has been freelancing on a regular basis for some national and international magazines. One of his recent writings, ‘Indian Elections 2009,’ found its mention as a reference source in the Summit Document of the Global Forum on Modern Direct Democracy held in Seoul, South Korea, in September 2009.
A post-graduate and graduate in History from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi, he provided classroom teaching in Geography optional for the Indian Civil Services Examination and headed the back-room research support system for the General Studies Program at Evolution, a Delhi-based IAS Institute, from 2005-2010. He is keenly interested in reading, writing and movies.
